7th pay commission: DA (Dearness Allowance) for central govt employees increased by 3% to 34%

The central government has announced a increment in DA (dearness allowance) for central government workers.

It is important to know that government froze the increment in DA/DR from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 due to novel Corona Virus pandemic.

The incremented DA will not only beneficial for central government employees but will also beneficial for central government pensioners.

Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval to release an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees.

Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval to release Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners w.e.f. 01.01.2022 representing an increase of 3%

The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief would be Rs.9,544.50 crore per annum.

About 47.68 lakh Central Government employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners will get benefits.
